I have officially survived my first week of spring classes and first weekend of homework. Yup I already have homework, but I honestly don't mind. I have nothing better to do.French is my favorite class by far! The first two weeks of class, we are only talking. No notes, written homework, reading...nothing tangible.
I love that. Learning a new language is already very scary, so it is very refreshing to hear that the first two weeks, all we really need to do is listen and repeat(sometimes individually).
I already broke one rule from my french goal list. I didn't complete rosetta stone before french class started, but I'm still doing it anyway. Why not? It won't replace doing french homework, but continuing to do it on the side would still help my overall french skills.
I keep fantasizing about speaking french, but I know I'm not doing as much as I can to actually learn it. I still don't know many basic french words and phrases. I don't like telling people I'm a french major, because my french is non-existent for the most part and I'm not fond of saying that fact aloud anymore than I have to.
The other classes I'm taking are math, english, and speech.
The only class I'm not so confident of doing well in is english, because the professor is very unorganized. I think it will be one of those classes where I need to go to the teacher's office hours very often, but whatever it takes to get an A is definitely worth the time and effort.
Let's hope I can get a 4.0 this semester! After getting a 3.5 last time, while not trying my very hardest, I don't see this goal being that far-fetched.
